The Google Online Store only sells one product: the Nexus One Android smart phone. Now, the store has been taken down and the Nexus One is no longer available through this specific channel.
When asked about the move, Google stated that the Nexus One has already achieved what Google wanted and expected of the handset. With many other Android devices already being released, it is hard to imagine that the Android community would insist that the handset stay available.
Either way, Vodafone UK is still offering the handset on certain contracts. Since it has not been announced how much stocks they have or how long they plan on offering the Nexus One, those who intend to own this Google branded smart phone ought to get one as soon as possible.
The Nexus One, despite not being a major selling handset, is actually an impressive piece of technology. The device comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display, providing users with both amazing visual quality as well as responsive and accurate touch controls. The 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227 Snapdragon CPU gives the Nexus One all the necessary power and speed to handle any app and feature without skipping a beat.
The handset also comes with a 5 mega pixel camera, support for WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and all the usual smart phone features. Google has added in an upgraded version of the speech detection software –which gives the Nexus One speech to text features. Users can even use speech commands to initiate search queries as well.
This handset is loaded with Android 2.1 Éclair, and is compatible with the new Android 2.2 Froyo update. Froyo makes the Android OS run faster (both the UI and browser has been upgraded), and it will also be compatible with the newly launched Adobe Flash Player version 10.1.

The Mobile World Congress was a pretty telling testament to the trend of high end smart phones. While many of us are still raving about the upcoming Windows Phone 7 series mobile platform (yes, we are close to building a shrine for it), there is no doubt that 2010 is the year when the mobile phone industry is going to get highly saturated with Android smart phones.
A couple of years ago, the Google mobile platform was the underdog. HTC was the first manufacturer to bring the new OS to the market. The G1 Android handsets quickly proved the worth of the open source platform and now, we are eagerly anticipating each new Android phone that comes out.
Now, it looks like the Android OS has become the platform of choice as many new devices sporting the Google system will be launched this 2010. The year already started with the launch of the Google-branded Nexus One (also made by HTC), and March will see the launch of several major devices.
HTC will be delivering its own Snapdragon Android smart phone in the form of the HTC Desire. The phone was originally known as the Bravo and it served as the basis for the Nexus One. The likeness in form and the similar specs between the two devices are hard to miss. Both have Snapdragon 1GHz processors, 5 mega pixel cameras and 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screens. The Desire got its new name last Mobile World Congress when HTC showed off the new device.
Another device that HTC brought to the spotlight is the HTC Legend. This phone is the successor to the HTC Legend. It comes with a 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen, a 5 mega pixel camera, and a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor.

It is not a surprise that Google has approached various mobile phone manufacturers to develop their Nexus series of mobile phones. After all, Google does rely on subcontractors for manufacturing.
As we all know, the prestige (if we can call it such) of making the Google Nexus One is none other than HTC. The Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer has played a key role in the development of the Android operating system since day one. In fact, it was HTC that made the very first Android smart phone, the HTC Dream (commonly known as the G1).
When Google announced that it was going to make its own mobile phone, plenty of rumors rose as to who would be manufacturing the Android handset. HTC got pegged early on as a likely candidate, but no one expected that Sony Ericsson would be one of the companies Google approached.
According to Bert Nordberg, CEO of Sony Ericsson, the Swedish Japanese joint venture passed up an invitation from Google to make the Nexus One. The news came from a Swedish magazine interview and has gotten plenty of feedback online.
“What was Sony Ericsson thinking?”
So goes the general reaction of anyone who has read the news. After all, 2009 was full of nothing but bad news for the joint venture. Halfway through the year, they had to shut down facilities and offices –losing 2000 workers in the process. Near the holidays, major device Satio got pulled out of shelves from both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U due to firmware problems and December saw the XPERIA X2 getting delayed to January.
2010 began with the fiscal reports that showed SE being in the deep red; deep as in to the tune of over 800 million.

When it comes to the internet, Google partially dominate the scene, with millions of visitors a day and billions of pounds a year coming in from revenue each year. Google have changed the way the internet works and how we use it. Many phones these days, particularly the touch phones run on Google’s own Android operating system. This is very fast and reliable and is probably the reason why so many people use it.
Google up till now have not released their own phone, but very recently disclosed to the public that they are releasing their own mode, titled the Nexus One. This new phone is due for release in Spring 2010 in the United Kingdom, and is going to be available on the Vodafone network. Depending on the phones reviews and sale figures it is expected to be available on other networks as time goes on.
The phone itself features Google integration, allowing you to access all Google applications at the touch of a button. For instance, to access YouTube usually you would have to go to an internet browser and open it up, then search for YouTube until you are there, which appears to be time consuming and laborious. On the Nexus One there are direct links to all of Google’s applications, so if you want to access Google Maps, Google trends or YouTube, all you do is press a button and it takes you straight there.
The phone is expected to be available on a contract plan at first, with a price tag not having been released yet. Once the Nexus One gets up and running and the word gets out, it is expected that the phone will then become available on other networks as well as a pay as you go tariff.
