February 5, 2010HTCNo Comments

HTC SmartWith the introduction of HTC Smart, things have changed at HTC.  The upcoming smartphone features a new operating environment, the HTC Sense.  This environment is based on three pillars: the first one is ‘make it mine’, the second one ’stay close’ and the ‘discovery of the unexpected’ is the third.  The HTC sense can be perceived as an experiment which has you in the centre.

Everybody has a phone, smart or not, but the known smartphones don’t give the user the possibility to customize their phone in the way he wants.  The HTC Sense operating environment lets the consumer to feel that the phone really is theirs.  Removing, rearranging icons and applications is common in every smartphone on the market.  The HTC Sense operating environment – built on a bright new operating system named Qualcomm Brew – goes beyond the usual smartphone offers.

HTC Smart backLet’s you bring your content to the surface. It seems like the inner you, and you as a consumer are in the centre of the HTC now.  If you are fond of Twitter or you have favourite websites, maybe like weather websites (you want to know how the weather outside without stepping foot outside) or emails, or contacts.  The interesting thing is that when you choose to bring these to the surface, you are not making a shortcut. You bring it all up, to your fingertip.  Make it mine, also means in the eyes of the creators, that beyond customizing; the style is revealed.

That’s why their clock palette is quite wide, so you can choose the clock you like best, along with the consumers personal documents, photos, etc.  They also are thinking about time management.  HTC Smart, with this HTC Sense operating environment, answers to the everyday and weekend moods by scenes. Users can set up their phone look different, even specifically on the weekends.

HTC Smart keyboardPeople use phones to stay in touch, to communicate.  Nowadays, in this rhythm in motion life we have internet and email, what we would like to read on Time.  HTC Smart offers their consumers the feature, along with the text messaging, and looks like the Facebook website can be reached on every smartphone by default.  Next to the updates on users Facebook profile, the phone features a 3 Megapixel colour camera with fixed focus and flashlight what helps consumers to share photos about their best moments in life.  Consumers can do this via their HTC Smart.

The creators focused on the efficiency of communication between people.  With the HTC Sense, they have come up with a one-place communication structure in one contact.  What it means, is that the user does not have to launch different applications to follow-up on communication between them and their contacts, it has all of them in one place: emails, text messages, Facebook updates and flicker photos.  All users have to do is navigate between the icons.  The creators are trying to get closer at the consumers real life by offering these features with a HTC Smart.

October 14, 2009HTCNo Comments

HTC TattooThe Android based HTC set with a slim and attractive design, Tattoo, is available on Vodafone’s online store and the shipping of the order starts from October 8. HTC Tattoo is expected to be relatively cheaper than many other high profile smartphones, but is being widely received positively because of its attractive slim design, a simple yet effective user interface, and all the benefits of the popular operating system platform developed by Google, Android. Tattoo also uses a number of other Google web services, such as Google maps, search and email among its features pertaining to the internet and web surfing.

The phone has a simple five button menu and is navigated through a touch-screen and enables users to modify it the way it is convenient to them, The Android platform helps you to stay updated with the latest updates on your Facebook news feed, with the latest videos on YouTube, or the pictures added by your friends on Flickr and respond to them with considerable ease.

The HTC Tattoo handset does not offer as sensitive a touch screen or a 5.0 mega pixel camera as in HTC Hero, but it is much lighter and smaller than the latter and is expected to be carrying a cheaper price as well. HTC Tattoo features a 3.2 mega pixel camera and a resistive touch-screen instead, while its 2.8” inch TFT screen is also smaller than the 3.2” screen of HTC Hero, but with smaller dimensions, the smaller screen is understandable. The rest of the features of both the phones are almost similar, with same processor power and memory.

HTC Tattoo has a much more attractive and slim design, and its interface with an improved version of Android is the main factor why mobile phone enthusiasts will be looking forward to the release of HTC Tattoo on contract.

September 28, 2009HTCNo Comments

HTC Touch2All right, here’s some good news for all you die-hard HTC fans out there. The upgraded version of the popular HTC Touch PDA phone, which was, in unofficial circles, known as the HTC Mega, has finally been officially announced. A number of details about the phone have been released by HTC, which include it’s final name to HTC Touch 2. It will come running on the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and will retail without any commitment for 299 Pounds, come the 12th of next month. The HTC Touch 2 Reviews have been nothing short of praise for the phone, so let’s see what the fuss is all about.

The HTC Touch2 has extremely similar looks when compared to the HTC Touch but has a difference in the fact that it has a rounded edge at the bottom, unlike the HTC Touch. It also comes with MyPhone, the first phone to do so.

The MyPhone facility is basically a production of Microsoft and enables you to store a backup of your contacts and data on the free internet storage facility of Microsoft. Best of all, you are able to do it on the phone itself, without having to use a computer, making it extremely convenient to use and ensuring that you will be able to take periodic backups of the data.

The Touch2 is also optimized to surf the internet, having a nice and crisp 2.8 inch TFT LCD touch screen. You can zoom in and out of the web pages by using the zooming facility located at the bottom of the screen. Flash objects can be viewed on the web browser, meaning that you can access websites such as YouTube.

Other features present in the HTC Touch2 include the 3.5 mm headset jack, a multimedia player, Bluetooth, 3G with HSDPA, Qualcomm 528 MHz processor and GPS. When the HTC Touch2 is released make sure you check out all the deals that will come on offer so you can compare and get the best price available.

T-Mobile G1 Touch

August 11, 2009HTC, T-MobileNo Comments

tmobile_g1_touchThe T-Mobile G1 Touch is the latest phone to have been released on the Google Android OS. Though the phone gives the initial impression of being a pretender, a couple of minutes of usage of the phone should convince you to think otherwise.
The display of the T-Mobile G1 Touch is quite good and, though it is a tad smaller than the display found on the iPhone, the screen overalledly is better than that of the iPhone, so that’s an encouraging start.
As for setting up the phone, quite strangely, you need a Google account if you are to start doing anything with the phone – this includes even activating the phone on the T-Mobile network. Since I really hadn’t purchased their G1 plan, I couldn’t really get the phone activated for use immediately so I had to get some help from T-Mobile in order to get the phone activated. I didn’t realise the problem immediately and had to grope around for a couple of days before calling the customer service.
However, once you activate it, you will get the main screen, where there are 4 default icons – dialer, contacts, browser and maps – in that order. The order gives perfect priority to each of the functions.
There were plenty of apps which came bundled with the G1. This included IM, Email client, a music player, a built – in calendar, integration with Amazon MP3 and mobile YouTube. The Voice Dialer function is also present, enabling you to dial a contact’s number by just mentioning their name. This function has become commonplace for a couple of years now as far as Nokia phones are concerned, so it’s very applaudable that HTC decided to get it on board as well.

However, the best app by a long distance is the Google Maps, which really kills with its pinpoint accuracy!
The full – QWERTY of the T-Mobile G1 Touch served to make the G1 extremely heavy and the choice of colour scheme on the keyboard is quite disappointing, blacking out some keys when in the dark!

In addition to this, the trackball navigation makes it extremely easy to use the phone.

Using the WAP 2.0 browser and the QWERTY keyboard, you will not only be able to use email, but you can also surf the internet at extremely high speed. This is facilitated using the 7.2 Mbps HSDPA network.

USB connectivity is also available so that you can transfer data between the computer and the phone. The HTC Snap will be compatible with all 2G and 3G networks.

HTC Snap

July 14, 2009HTCNo Comments

htc-snapThe HTC Snap is already being praised as a very good smartphone which has a set of features that every techno – geek is likely to be full of praise for. Looking at the technical specifications of the phone, the HTC Snap is packed in the connectivity side – Wi-Fi connectivity for high speed internet access as well as Bluetooth. The HTC Snap doesn’t lack in speed, having a very powerful CPU. There is support for all UMTS and HSDPA networks as well. There is a good amount of memory, which is shared between the ROM and the RAM. Topping it all off is the in – built GPS receiver, which means that you can get directions to wherever you want to go.
The user interface used in the HTC Snap is extremely fast and very responsive, something that is not generally seen of HTC phones. The extremely good speed of the HTC Snap really comes in handy when you want the phone to perform tasks which use up a lot of memory. Such tasks include loading web pages which have a lot of graphics or high resolution video files.
The display also warrants a mention. The readability, as well as the contrast, of the screen is very impressive when comparing it with other smartphones. The visibility of the display is very applaudable even when it is used in the direct glare of the sun. The visibilty, of course, remains only when the backlight is either at medium or high.
Finally, the GPS function in the HTC Snap should not be forgotten. Observations done during a variety of tests, having the speed of fixing and usage of the pre – installed Google Maps as the basis, the receiver did extremely well.
The HTC Snap has already been released, so it should be in a store near you.
