Big Sales Push iPhone Availability Down

Friday, July 2, 2010Apple

This one is obviously a consumer concern. Apple has already sold over 1.7 million iPhone 4’s in the span of three days of sales. The handset is still selling until now and it if the purchasing rate picks up, the handset could go out of stock in a short while. Apparently, the world just cannot get enough of Apple’s new mobile phone.

In any case, Apple is not going to worry. Even if the iPhone goes out of stock and many people are hoping that Apple makes a quick re-stock, the company has already made plenty of profit. It would also be wise for Apple to hold back on the production of the iPhone. Since the handset comes with several issues –and one mind boggling antenna problem that really needs to be solved, it would be a smart move for Apple to let the current batch of iPhone 4 handsets to get sold out and come out with an improved version.

Apple has already taken some measures in order to determine what possible solutions they might be able to offer to rectify the situation.

The antenna issue however, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the real issue. Apparently, Apple does not care enough about testing their new handset to realize that it comes with such a huge defect. If the antenna problem managed to get past Apple’s quality tests, who knows what other problems might be in the iPhone 4?

In the meanwhile, retailers and network operators are creating new systems in-store and online for all would be iPhone buyers who are not able to get the device due to the lack of available stocks. Back-order forms have been set up online for various networks that would inform interested buyers once the Apple iPhone is back in stock
