Caution! Divas Dialing in 2010
Samsung is making sure that divas will be able to dial glamorously and luxuriously in 2010. Okay, that may have been a bit of an overstatement and a little on the dramatic side. The straight truth is, Samsung recently announced its plan to roll out a brand new mobile phone design line called the Diva, sometime during the first part of 2010. Both phones in the Diva design line, there are two of them (Samsung S7070 and Samsung S5150), should be in retail stores sometime during the first quarter. Though the phones have been in the works obviously for awhile, Samsung has been a bit secretive.
The less feature-rich phone of the two Diva mobile phones is the Samsung S5150 Diva. This clamshell, flip phone has a raised and embossed quilt pattern design. This is largely what sets it apart externally from other phones aimed at the female buyers. Most others rely on color to be decidedly female. Samsung goes one step further and adds some texture. Besides the feminine look and feel of the phone, the S5150, codename Olivia, has a few features that will likely cater to the female buyer. Some the most notable are the ‘lomo effect’ and ‘fake call.’
The ‘lomo effect’ is a feature that allows users to edit their photos and add effects to them. This feature will likely appeal to young girls who enjoy taking pictures and adding cute little things to them. The fake call feature is what most women wish they would have had access to at least one time in their life. The phone will emulate a real call, giving the user a chance to make an excuse and cut out, if needed. This can come in handy during a bad date or a situation that is quickly going from bad to worse.
